Club Kit Discussion

Post by Andy_Craddock » 28 Jan 2017 12:03

Hi All

Sorry for the lack of information being given of late regarding kit and an order. I know a few people have been concerned about the race season coming up.

As some of you may be aware we are looking to change supplier for the Beacon kit for many reasons. This hasn’t been an overnight decision and has took a lot of time to finalise. The kit design is almost identical but the quality is improved. We do still have stock for sale which can be found viewtopic.php?t=8056 There were quite a few price increases with Giordana also, and the quality dropped. I have saw quite a few of the bodhi items and the quality is superb.

Please note that we will NOT be ordering the Black CX kit with the new supplier.

All of the benefits of the new supplier can be found here https://www.bodhicycling.be/en/10-lines people will also soon be able to order direct (so you won’t have to actually see me as the item will be delivered direct to you) There are no minimum order quantities which will be a massive bonus and stop us having to order 10 items if only one member wants something. All items can be ordered in a womens fit.

For this initial order so people can get there stuff for racing I am advertising the prices below for individual items however the more we order the price does drop slightly and I will notify anyone of any reduction

As im aware the racing season is near I am putting a deadline of Sunday 12th February for people to register their orders. When a 50% deposit will need to be paid so that I can submit the order as soon as possible.

Payment details are

Sort Code: 30-96-12
Account Number: 01204329
Account Name: Beacon RCC

Paypal treasurer@beaconrcc.org.uk via paypal gift

Jersey - https://www.dropbox.com/s/ddg7jmtxwk4l0 ... 4.pdf?dl=0

Shorts - https://www.dropbox.com/s/1tw6e2gsygkyq ... 5.pdf?dl=0

The black eye kit is the race kit so fits like FRC but sizing chart is below. I have already had several messages about if there is a budget option and yes there is a cheaper non race fit jersey but due to the short turn around and there main reason for his order for those racing and females I am leaving it at just the Black eye for this order as I'm awaiting some information on the other kit and wanted to get this order in

Black Eye short sleeve jersey £84.00
Black Eye long sleeve jersey £104.00
Black Eye windbreaker £85.00

Medium skin suit Cleggy? Won't that cut you in half?
I'm going to have to do some serious consideration about sizing on that front.

To large or to extra large? That is the question.
Cheers,

I'm also wondering if I'm too tall for a medium skinsuit. Hmm...

Edit: Make that a medium with short sleeves, please.

Deposit paid by bank transfer 11 February.

I've asked Andy and he says short sleeve, but he thinks they could do long sleeve on request.

Andy says the advice is to use the Black Eye kit sizing chart, although not sure that helps too much!

If the price is slightly higher than the short sleeved version just let me know.

I'll order a skinsuit LS in large (but will go with SS if that is only option). Will pay a 50% deposit based on pricing on this thread and top up if LS is more expensive.

I'm moving this topic to "Club News" because a problem with the message board prevents new members registering.

This won't enable them to post about an order of course but at least they'll be able to see what's available and contact Andy or email the Treasurer.

Hi all - great news. The kit should be arriving at Andy's house this weekend! I think that's about 2 1/2 months from placing the order to receiving it, and a bit of a record I do believe?!

Anyhow, if you placed an order, you can pick it up from his house next Tuesday evening, 16 May, between 6 and 8pm. Please text him on 07850 215256 to let him know you are going, and also if you need his address.

If you can't make next Tuesday, Andy will shortly let us know additional date/times for pick up. May I ask that people please don't message him en mass to request an alternative date. Tia.

Don't forget that the balance of payment is now due. I think most people paid half as their deposit?!

Once these orders have been picked up, we'll know what's left in stock for new members and info will be published. If any women want kit, can you drop me a message separately.

Cheers

Helen

Balance paid. Not sure if the cost for long sleeve skin suit differs from the listed price of £139 for short sleeve . If someone could let me know if I owe any extra whenever's convenient.
Thanks for everyone's efforts to get this all sorted, much appreciated.

Hi all

Sorry to be a complete pain but I've just spoke to the supplier and there is a slight delay on the delivery of the shorts and skin suits.

The jerseys will be with me tomorrow so if you just have a jersey then the collection window on Tuesday is still ok

However if you have ordered shorts or skinsuits I will be doing another collection Thursday 25th 6-8

There is a chance the shorts may be here by next weekend, if they are I will let people know so they can have them for the weekend if they like.

Please pass this info on to anyone who may not be on the message board

Thanks

Andy,

Any chance I could collect my skinsuit on the Weds 24th? I'm racing on the 25th and would like to use it if possible... (same for Laurence as well)

So I've just seen the new kit and while the colours look good and vibrant and the fit looks contemporary, it seems a shame that the italic type face has been retained on the front.
The new supplier would have been a golden opportunity to keep with the times but the "Beacon RCC" that has come across from the Giordana design looks like it was done in MS Word. I gather there is still a clashing type face on the side panels.

Seen one pic on Facebook, modelled by Gavin. Think it looks really great. Even on him! Don't think we wanted big changes as kit isn't cheap so start changing things like that pressures people into feeling like they are in old or a different design kit and the giordana kit is great, just the wait and hassle for Andy wasn't. Plus whatever font you choose I expect wouldn't please everyone. I hadn't noticed the font when saw pic earlier tbh, can see is bit different though, more just was struck by the painted on look on Gav! Can't wait to see some skinsuits! :-)

Sure Andy will welcome any feedback though so he's aware and can share with the committee and manufacturer.

Quality of the jersey is amazing, and has all the bells and whistles you would want in a race top. The fit is snug (thanks Tim), but it's what I was expecting from the size chart... I got s large for anyone that knows me.

I think you'll find that brush script pre dates MS word by at least 2 decades
Check out the cover of Uriah Heep live (1973) (The album is fantastic as well)
in other words its a classic
Twice last year I was told by guys from other clubs that the Beacon had the coolest Kit ......Especially the black away Kit

I've been told the brush font is "very Home & Away" which totally removes any typographical reservations I previously maintained. It does indeed rock

By the way I'm a little confused by the new kit orders - have we started to procure tricolore skinsuits?

Andy, I have sent a text in relation to stock items.
The post says you do have some and to text you. No reply.
Does the club still have stock of winter jerseys or do we have to wait until a new order? Anyone know?

Did we get any closer to a resolution with Bodhi following the feedback? Race season isn't too far away, and I'm looking at trying to squeeze into a skinsuit this year. ta
