I've just had a phone call from Oscar telling me that John Green died at 4.00 this morning. John was aged 97 and a founder member of the Beacon RCC.
He had been in a nursing home near Stroud for the last five years and I know that Charlie Skinner along with some other members used to visit him there.

He had not been very well the last few years and I'm sure he is in a better place now

Sorry to hear this Dave. It is my understanding he had been in very difficult place health wise in recent years. Even so, it does not seem that long ago that he attended the LMTT as a spectator, discharging his jovial humour.
