Snowdrop and Sunrise Audaxes - call for help!!

Post by WorcsPhil » 05 Jan 2018 10:06

The SUNRISE EXPRESS AND SNOWDROP EXPRESS AUDAXES ARE NOW BOTH FULL. ENTRIES NOW CLOSED!

But I would greatly appreciate some additional support on the day (Saturday 24th February). My perfect world would be 7 people to help, as there are likely to be 200 riders there on the day (if there’s no ice). In short, I’m appealing for…

- one extra person to help register riders at the beginning. I’ve roped my wife into registering people, but I need an additional person to support her (07:45-9am)
- 2 car park marshals at Whitlenge HQ (7.45-9am)
- a marshall at the A442 junction (08:30-09:10) – this could be a Snowdrop rider
- a marshal in Hartlebury to assist with parking control (7.45-9am)
- A validator at Evesham café control (Raphaels) (10am-2pm)
- one extra person to help with validating return riders (2pm-4.45pm)

Mark Rigby, a well known doyen of audax has already volunteered to be the validator at the Upton café

If you are not riding and would like to provide some support then please let me know by messaging here or texting me on 07803 258902.
Don’t forget, every helper gets free food either at Whitlenge or at Evesham.

Thanks, Dave. Consider yourself and Ann as confirmed at Evesham. I’ll be in touch with more details shortly.

That’s all the indoor volunteers completed...anybody who can help on car par duty at Whitlenge and Hartlebury will be welcome.

Thanks again

Hi, this is getting serious now - PLEASE can I have 3 volunteers to help out on car parking duties in Whitlenge/Hartlebury for just 75 minutes on Saturday 24th February from 07:45 till 9am, and one rider on the Snowdrop who can marshal at the A442 junction from 08:30...you only need to leave 2 minutes after the last rider.

All people volunteering for this will get a free breakfast - you can't say fairer than that.

I've filled the indoor roles, and controllers at the far off cafes, but just need these last posts completed. Obviously it isn't hard work, but would be extremely helpful and show the cyclists of the Midlands we can organise things from time to time and we're not a rabble...so please look inside yourself and volunteer.

Thanks again.

Phil

That's great, Rob...all you'll need is a keen eye for traffic and a left arm that goes up and down...
