Can anyone come & demonstrate CX skills to kids? As we move forward with encouraging more participation in cycling especially in those communities that have traditional missed out we are going to have a go at an idea BC have had for the Sarah & Calthorpe community club youths with Beacon CC at Cannon Hill Park which would hopefully benefit all involved. The idea is to run a session with a skills course followed by an off road course, very similar to what we run at the schools games which may find some talented individuals who would wish to take their cycling forward into competing. The plan would be very simple with BC supplying the bikes and 2 staff to run this overall with help from volunteers from the community clubs (2 from each would work) and support from Beacon CC using the area at Holders lane. The vision to try and build sustainable links between the community clubs and the local BC club to everyone’s mutual benefit. After the kids have gone we can have an adult training session under floodlights. Should be a lot of fun!

Ade, I have zero CX skills and would be unable to demonstrate anything except incompetence. However, if you want someone to mill around, talk to people, move cones, hand out bibs or anything of that ilk, I will try to free up time.

Sadly, this event has had to be cancelled on the advice of British Cycling. Refunds have been issued.
