Supporters required for the Kidderminster Killer please - 24th July

Post by Philip Whiteman » 11 May 2021 11:25

The Kidderminster Killer is nearly sold out with only nine slots remaining available. From Clee to Heaven is suspended this year due to various uncertainties, so overall there will be fewer numbers overall on the day.

There are a number of changes to this year's event including a possible new control hosted by the Village Hall Committee and WI at Chapel Lawn. There are also some new brutal ascents to test the elite of long distance riders. As ever, to make this a great event, help and support will be be very much appreciated to make this event possible. Any surpluses will be donated to a local homeless young persons outreach charity.

I am currently looking for volunteers to support the event at GHQ Belbroughton in the following activities, please:

- 7-8am. Provision of tea and coffee to riders.
- 4.30 and 10.30pm at anytime available. Food and drinks (no cooked food this year).
- 10pm - 11pm. Hall clearance.
- A 'nice to have' would be a photographer willing to take images of ascending riders at Sheepwalks, Highley or further afield at the Long Mynd.

Brilliant Neil. Much appreciated. To date, you are the only Beacon member helping out.

I will put you down for late afternoon/early evening slot. A full volunteer rota will be circulated in the next few weeks. I will have a bottle of beer in hand as recognition.

I should be able to help that day. I'm easy about the time so put me down for whenever you most need help (although I'd prefer to be able to ride home before it gets dark).

Many thanks to those that have offered support on 24th July. I have drawn up a roster that I hope represents your available times.

Phil, the weekend of your autumn events is also the weekend of my birthday, so I am likely to be doing things with the family. Until I know exactly what and when, I prefer not to commit to anything else that weekend.

Hi Phil, all being well I'll do my usual stint with clearing up HQ at the end. Should be easy to be socially distanced if that's still required.

Hello Dave

Many thanks. :) I have put you down again. I will have a bottle of beer at the ready. Hopefully all will be well in July but yesterday's news about the potential delay on easing lockdown creates some uncertainty for the event :(

Hello Mariana

Thankyou for your offer of help. I could do with somebody working alongside Laurence between 7 and 8am, producing industrial quantities of toast and drinks. I hope you like toast.

The venue is Belbroughton Recreation Centre. https://www.belbroughtonrec.org/?page_id=183

Thanks Dave.

You are off to Guernsey if I recall.

Can I put you down for the 2nd October 'Beyond the Dyke' instead?
