Yay - we have a local stage this year! An early ascent of the Malverns (I bet they're not going up to West Malvern from Mathon though) followed by visits to Upton, Pershore, Evesham & Broadway.

Book the day of work folks!

Keen to see this if I am around. who is in? where? I guess either Malvern or snowshill.
Time sheet says about 1100 at The Wyche (err... presume that is Malvern?), so would have to be a reasonably early start from BH.

Snowshill is probably better given that it is later into the stage. Unfortunately, there is no pavement unlike Wyche Cutting. Snowshill is a nicer ride and means that you can avoid the horrible roads around Worcester.

A slightly disappointing flirtation with the Malverns, think I might go to Snowshill instead.

Definitely going somewhere Carl, I've booked the day off work. Could either take train to Malvern / Colwall and ride home or ride to Snowshill and back. Might be influenced by the weather.

Snowshill is later which will allow us more time to go via Cleeve hill and do a few reps up Bushcombe Lane in prep for the hill TT

I've booked that day off also. Are we going as a collective? If so where/when are we meeting up?

See you at Snowshill as I am biking down from Stratford, cuts out the boring bits from Solihull.

Can I suggest 9.15am departure from the Black horse (as per the usual club runs)???? That should give us plenty of time if we take a direct route.

I also plan on heading down to Snowshill.

9.15 at BH sounds alright to me James.

Guys, just a heads up, but you might want to leave earlier than you first planned as apparently the Broadway road will be closed and no access will be granted.

A group of us who were originally planning to leave from the Tardebigge at 10 o'clock, but in view of the above we are now leaving at 9 o'clock.

Thanks Alan. Maybe we should make it 0815 from BH then?

I don't know when the Tour passes through Broadway but here is some guidance that might be useful for determining the departure time from Birmingham.

A runs to Broadway used to arrive in Broadway at around 11.30-11.45 using a reasonably direct route. In other words, a journey time of 2.15-2.45 hours.

Just to throw some more info-light at this, according to the website

http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/files/do ... mation.pdf

The only road closures outside of rolling road closures are planned FULL CLOSURES with no
exemptions, for associated activity, as follows:
The Butts, Worcester – between 4-5.30am and 9am – 1pm.
Church Street, Wells Road and Abbey Road, Malvern – between 8am – 2pm
Market Square, Evesham – between 10am – 2pm
High Street, Broadway – between 10 -11.30am

I am a bit puzzled by this because according to the race time sheet they are due on the High St at 1234 (@ av.42 kph)??

http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/files/do ... A_v2.0.pdf

The support vehicles and race are due on the Snowshill sometime between 1215 and 1236 (42 kph) so I guess we need a depart time and a route that will steer clear of the High St and get us on Snowshill no later than -say- 1145?

I'm in and will meet at Black Horse at ??? time. Weather forecast in v.good :)

As per the thread on FB, we're leaving from the Black Horse at 8.15am, grabbing a dirty fry-up on route and I've got two routes (there and back) that avoid the main climb and broadway.
