TdF Early Predictions?

Post by caashford » 20 Jun 2017 16:15

Any early predictions on the TdF contenders?

Yellow Jersey - Another year for Chris Froome? Chance for Quintana to show us what he is made of? Riche Porte's year to shine?
Green Jersey - Sagan again, or time for Kittell or Kristoff?
Climbers Jersey - Errr... someone small and skinny?

Does anyone use the Velo Fantasy League? We should get one up and running.

There's a Beacon league for all the major races. Posted here and on Facebook.
Anyone but Froome is my first choice

It's almost certain that nobody in my fantasy team will achieve anything.

PREDICTIONS
Brailsford claims it's all in the past and we should concentrate on the racing in first press conference.
Cav destroys all in first sprint, but falls off in second.
Sagan has a new haircut, which matches the paint job of his frame.
Contador disappears into the mist on the first hill, new blood.
Froome follows but falls off and retires , Sky blame ant-British sentiment, Brexit and more or less everybody else.

Bouhanni wins European welterweight championship.
Romain Bardet is the surprise winner and is made Emperor of France, Napoleon IV after the collapse of the 5th Republic.

You wait and see if I'm right :D

Pete,
Without being political after what's been happening in the world over the last few weeks and months you could be right on all counts !!!!!

Haha!

My prediction: There will be crashes and Froome will win easy.

My hope: Cavendish wins five stages. And the bloke who only started road cycling six months ago wins overall, or a stage at least :-)

I'm not sure if this is hope or judgement, but Romain Bardet.
