Anyone got a half decent front wheel that they aren't using that they would like to sell me?
The front wheel is knackered on my best bike. Currently lacking much cashflow to replace with something decent due to spending a lot recently on holidays and bathrooms! Plus doing very few miles at the moment so I cant justify hitting the credit card.
Something light and fast for not much pounds
Or something not so light to go on my commuting bike for even less pounds! (and I will use my training front wheel on my best bike)
Many thanks!!
Decent Front wheel, cheap :-)
Tim, I dont know what your budget is, but for less than £65 you can get a pair of Shimano wheels from Ribble.

I have a couple of front wheels taken of bikes I have rebuilt.
You would be best having a look first to see if they are what you want.
The best is a Mavic Kysrium Elite (spelling!). The hub and rim wear is pretty minimum. It is true and I have tried it out and it rides very nicely. It has two small splits in the rim, nothing dramatic and both marked with stickers so you can check them.
The other is a shop branded Planet X wheel. No idea who actually made it, but in my experience Panet X often import surplus stuff from top brands so could be Mavic. This has had very little use and seems good. I have ridden it and it is very, very stiff for what I want in a wheel, but maybe what you may like.
Give ,me a ring if you are interested and you can pop round to see them.
£30 would be a fair price for one.
