Got this from the organiser today. Just myself and Stu signed up at the moment I think.

Cycle Live Nottingham Omnium Increased By Popular Demand

Due to unprecedented demand, the capacity for Cycle Live Nottingham Omnium has been increased by organisers.

The event, which is open to Category 3 and 4 British Cycling licence holders, takes place at Nottingham’s Victoria Embankment on Saturday 21st June 2014 around the one mile Nottingham Grand Prix circuit.

The Omnium was added to the schedule in 2014 to create a genuine spectacle for people watching while giving participants the chance to compete in three different disciplines that form part of the popular track cycling event.

Participants will take on a one lap time trial and a Devil Race with the points amassed over the first two races determining whether they will compete in the minor or major final. The finals will take the form of scratch races. Points garnered in the major final will determine the overall Omnium champion.

With a £1000 prize pot on offer, this is an event not to be missed.

Due to the increased capacity, the timings for the day have changed slightly from those first advertised to incorporate the additional Devil Race.

The schedule is now as follows:

13:30
OMNIUM TIME TRIAL

14:30
OMNIUM DEVIL RACE 1

15:00
OMNIUM DEVIL RACE 2

17:40
OMNIUM MINOR FINAL

18:40
OMNIUM GRAND FINAL

1 mile TT: Me 80th Stu 7th! Out of 90

Devil 1: I hit a barrier half a lap in! Stayed upright just but by time cliped back in no hope of getting back on. Tiny graze to nuckle & forarm, bike & new beacon gloves unharmed.

Devil 2: Stu was eliminated about half way through so think finished 15-20th of 45.

Minor Crit (people placed 45-90): I hung on to group til 4 laps to go, was just losing touch when 5 hit the deck in front of me, I stopped in time! finished with 1 who got up!

Major Crit (double bc points on offer). I left half way through think Stu was mid pack not heard result yet. V strung out and looked fast after a guy jumped from the gun getting couple hundred metres clear before being brought back in after ten mins but caused pace to be high from the off.

A great days racing, recommended next year. Part of a 2 day cycling festival. An E/1/2 was following Stu's race. All who were signing on looked about 12!

Stu came 11th in last crit so think 11th overall after 3 events. Which from my point of view finishing over 80th was a great result.

I will try and be back next year to see if I can make top half. He can go back to test himself against the Es and 1s!

I'd ride pretty much anything if somebody else was paying for it 😁
