A win for Stu

Post by Tim » 19 Aug 2016 08:15

Congrats to Stuart White who won the Mid Shropshire Wheelers 3/4 crit race last night. I think his first win of the year. Think he's now close to regaining 2nd cat status at first attempt and keeps the Beacon Road Trophy comp alive.

Yes as several have said elsewhere they don't want to blow their own trumpet so up to anyone who hears of an achievement to post here I think. There's a report from another rider I've shared on Facebook group. Sounds like Stu attacked off front with another rider for 20 mins, they were caught and he still won!

Thanks Both,

Yes, I attacked with one other and we got a pretty good gap that we managed to keep for about 20 mins or so, after a brief discussion we agreed we couldn't hold that pace for another half an hour so took the sensible option to sit up and join the pack.

Stayed at the front for the final laps and made sure I had the best line for the last hairpin as that's the key part of that course. I managed to get the right wheel at the end when a young lad came past just a little bit too early, setting it all up nicely.
My breakaway partner and I got 1st and 2nd which I thought was a marvellous reward for our work earlier.

That partnered with a 4th at Plungar road race the night before gives me 49 points so back to 2nd Cat for a year of kicking's now :)
Cheers,

Stu

Nice one Stuart, good to see road racing alive and well amongst the "whippersnappers". That is a good win. What sort of average speed was that at?

Thanks Dave,

Strava says it was 25.4 https://www.strava.com/activities/681036899

0.1 mph faster than the night before

I think that's probably a wrap for me now though, unless I can pluck some 2nd Cat points from the sky.
Cheers,

Stu

25.4 mph, that is not hanging around on a crit circuit with all those corners. Well done again.
