Hi Pete,

It's a possibility, what time would you need volunteers there for?

Usually 18:15 to attend briefings, but it may be later.

I may be able to pick up and drop off from Stourbridge Junction station if people can get there for 5:15

Just a reminder.
We are presently committed to at least three drivers and eight flag marshals at this event. I am not confident we will get all these so it would be great if volunteers could come forward early.
Could this post also be made a"sticky"

Riders who enter the league have to help out at their club's event as a condition of entry, so that should give you a few people to start with (I'm not sure who/how many people have entered this year). The advantage of the Enville course is that it's within riding distance of Birmingham. Riding out there to marshal and watch the race makes for a nice summer's evening.

I'd be happy to help but I think I'm going to be in Australia, unfortunately.

Hi Pete

I can help out on this, I can drive and have gold level on BC but i've never done this kind of thing before so would just being a marshall be better?

thanks

I will put you down as a driver but make it clear it's a first time. It's likely you will end up in a commisairs car doing the radio for them rather than actually driving, but if you do it's a good place to learn the ropes😎

Be really great if we could get a couple more volunteers for this, presently this round is seriously at risk as it doesn't have Accredited Marshals and the organiser was under the impression that we would be supplying both more drivers and flag marshals.

Membership of this league as a club requires the club to either organise or assist in a race.

Sorry to say folks but Anne and I will be away in Guernsey. I hope you can get the number of helpers required. It is a big and active club.

Thanks Dave. It is tricky for a club based in Brum to get people out west on a Thursday evening, which is why we assist rather than organising a round. The Wolves Racing Club are the main organiser of this one and they have problems themselves even though they are twice our size.
I have picked up one rider from another club who can't marshal her round (its a requirement that all riders marshal at least one event). It would be nice if at least all those who ride these volunteered :)
I would point out to our riders that I marshal many events and if I spot Beacon riders who have not marshal'd at least one event I will report this.

I've not heard otherwise, so I presume it's on. We're the supporting club rather than the organising one, so that's probably why we're not mentioned.

You should have received an email from me last week via the BC system. The event is on. If you have any problems please contact me as a matter of URGENCY as you are allocated to marshal and be at the briefing at 18:00.
We are the supporting club not the organising club.
If you are not receiving emails from me please update your email with BC.
My phone number is on the documents sent out.

It would be great if attachments could be made here, but unfortunately I seem to be blocked from doing this by admim. Could that be fixed as I sent out documents to everyone using the BC system but would have liked to put it here as well.

You take things too personally Pete. I think I can see what the problem is. Global settings are for everyone to be able to attach files but it looks like everybody's individual settings are preventing this because we imported users from the old forum which didn't have the option to attach.

What a nightmare, so many different settings which can override each other. Not sure whether I've fixed it, could you try again please.

Thanks for everyone's help tonight. A good and safe race.
Racing can only take place thanks to the voluntary activity of people like yourselves.
I hope to see you again at future events.
Anyone interested in become a volunteer at races in the future in official capacity such as Accredited Marshal or Commissioner can contact me and I will point them in the right direction.😊
