The BEACON ROADS CYCLE CLUB TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019

Will be held at Halesowen Athletic & Cycling Club Manor Way Halesowen B62 8RW on Saturday 22nd June 1pm to 4pm

Come and join us for what promises to be an exciting afternoon’s racing for all ages.

Spectators will also be most welcome and the programme will be as follows:

> 1 SPRINT HEATS

> 2 ACADEMY TIME TRIAL

> 3 4000M PURSUIT

> 4 ACADEMY 1 LAP HANDICAP

> 5 SPRINT REPERCHARGE

> 6 ACADEMY 2 LAP HANDICAP

> 7 SPRINT SEMI FINALS

> 8 ACADEMY 3 LAP HANDICAP

> 9 SPRINT FINALS

> 10 ELIMINATION RACE- (THE ‘DEVIL’)

> 11 20 LAP SCRATCH RACE

There will be a coaching session from 12 – 1. The session will be structured to ensure that riders who have not ridden the track before will be able to complete in individual events i.e. all events apart from 10 and 11 on the programme.

If you’re planning on racing, to help with the programming please leave a message on the message board and/or the Beacon Facebook page.

Hire bikes are available. If you require the use of a hire bike on the day £5 please also leave a message.

Volunteers to assist with pushing off riders, working the lap board, assisting the judges, timing the pursuits etc. greatly appreciated.

In the event of bad weather a track inspection will be made at 11:30 and a notice posted on the Facebook page.

Looks like an excellent programme, Ade. Many thanks for organising.

I won't be riding, but I do hope to be there to watch and/or help. However, for domestic reasons, I probably won't be able to confirm until about a week before.

Is this only open to Beacon members?

I can help out Ade, don't leave me in charge of a stopwatch though!

Stu. Think non members can take part but won't get any prize, my brother in law did it a couple of years back. See what Adrian says though. They'd need to be fixed confident though obviously.

Adrian what are your thoughts on the one or two academy riders who are now riding fixed? Bring fixed and road bike? If there's a couple maybe they could do a 2k pursuit? They could probably beat a few grown ups in the sprint too

Very keen to help out Saturday but I’m with Neil. Don’t give me the stopwatch, not without VAR.
might have a go on the track as well if poss and would need to hire a bike but my main reason for attendance would be to help out.

Thank you to Ade and all the helpers at the track championships yesterday.
I had an absolutely fantastic time and loved every minute of it.

Great fun on Saturday - had a great time and the kids loved racing as well. The results being posted on FB are all over the place though - there must be some mix up with the riders numbers maybe?
