The annual club track championship is scheduled to take place at Halesowen CC on Saturday June 25th. To ensure that the day is a huge success and for the safety of all participants, it is required that everyone competing on the day has prior experience of track riding. While there will be the opportunity to refresh skills in advance of the racing beginning, this cannot be your first time on a track bike.

The great news is that this means you have more of an excuse to go and get some practice in. Experience doesn't need to equal formal accreditation, so some options include:

• Accreditation sessions at Halesowen start tomorrow, 13th April @ 7pm and will be run again next Wednesday, 20th - As a bonus, the Friday night track league is due to start on April 22nd so you could be flying come June

• Wolverhampton Wheelers appear to run intro sessions on a Monday evening - and again have a track league due to start soon

Of course, accreditation at velodrome in Derby, Manchester, Newport are all options too.

It is with great regret that I have to announce that the 2022 Beacon RCC track championships for adult riders is cancelled due to lack of entries. Eight academy riders have signed up. My perspective is that it is a real shame that they will not get to see older members of the club in action. Club members would be most welcome to come down to Halesowen and see the academy riders compete.

After the original date was rained off, Ade has rescheduled the track champs for 24 September. Registration is open here now.
