Does anyone have experience of Sealskinz products?

I'm looking for a good pair of winter gloves and overshoes, and wondered if anyone has used these and if they are up to the job? There seems to be mixed reviews.

I have a pair of their waterproof socks - they're brilliant. Wearing them now! Don't own their gloves or overshoes, although I've only seen good reviews.

Last week, Ian Taylor was cursing their overshoes as useless.

There is a waterproof version which I haven't tried as these do the job fine.

On the recent Croome Park run I set out in seal skin waterproof gloves, socks and overshoes. By the time we reached Pershore, about 90 minutes in, the gloves failed and were saturated. Not long after the overshoes also failed and I ended up wearing bags of water on my feet. That said, it was exceptionally wet conditions and I didn't have mudguards on my bike. I'm not personally convinced that there is such a thing as genuinely waterproof kit when it's heavily raining and when you add in the breathability (or lack thereof) issue, that leads to that lovely boil in the bag effect then it means you get wet from the inside out, if that makes sense.

I think I'll be trying to use kit that may not be waterproof but may actually dry quickly and with minimal discomfort from now on. Or perhaps just accept that when you ride a bike in the rain you get wet? Controversial thought...
