Perhaps 2014 might see some records being broken? When I mentioned it to John Hitch at the bar last night, his eyes went all twinkly and he was heard to mutter 'one last go for the road' ;)

Looks very nice Barry, but I wouldn't ride it during an English summer or it will get very messy

I hate to take the credit but I will. After last year's LMTT, I contacted Worcs CC about the appalling surface. They sent an inspector and listed it for resurfacing.

Well thats torn it, favourite excuse for poor performance on hill climb was "rubbish road surface" - what am I supposed to blame now?
Well done Phil, when we went down it on club run 2 weeks ago it was bloody awful.

I think all return legs of Sunday club runs should be re-routed to celebrate its resurfacing 8)

Well done. I had a very interesting chat with one of the council workers. When I expressed surprise that the council was even bothering with Winwood heath rd, he said that he had heard someone had come off going down the hill. Amazing how these things get distorted down the line. Remember at school learning about the parable 'send reinforcements, we're going to advance'!
From our conversation I understood that cyclists enjoy great influence on road maintenance targeting. This is encouraging.
Accordingly I have made a report (via fillthathole) about the bottom of Heath End Rd at the traffic light junction of the A491 (Hagley-Bromsgrove), which is a complete mess.
I also got the dirt on Evesham bridge which I will save for a light interlude between Sunday's deep philosophical musings.

I rode up here this morning to check out the new surface. They've done a really great job, but sadly it remains as steep as ever.
