Some of you may not have known Benny, he was a club member for many years and he rode LEJO with us in 1991. Last June he had a stroke and was in hospital until Christmas Eve when he was moved to a home. I'm sorry to say that I've just had a call from Ann, his wife, to say that he passed away this morning, he was in his seventies. Charlie.

That's very sad news Charlie. Benny was a very likeable bloke, and a real character, I spent many happy hours cycling with him on club runs, and yourself of course in the 80's. condolences to his family

Very sorry to hear the news. He was in his mid seventies. I have cycled with him many times in the past.

How sad please pass on my condolences. Benny with his distinctively Italian take on issues and the English language was great fun. An excellent chef at the then Cadbury training centre the Beeches he was a regular rider on what we would now call C runs (perhaps) and also did some TTs. I last met him at Rowheath shortly before his illness when he was going out on a Bournville Gentle Bike Ride with some other friends.

Charlie let us know the funeral arrangements and I will come along if I can.
