I’ve been using the canal from Selly Oak to mailbox since starting work in the city centre. However it’s closed till March by edge baston. Does anyone who knows the area know a route back onto the canal? Either or both directions.

The canal website doesn’t give a diversion.

Basically I come off at the Vale Halls of Residence and make my way up to Westbourne Rd and Highfield Rd and then to Fiveways underpasses

Is vale where you cross the bridge where the paths split? (Northbound)

Yep that's it, it's where there's student hall of residents you can currently see the fence stopping going any further from that bridge you have to go over into the halls.
