Just noted from the Cheshire Roads CC website that ex Beacon member Dave Cane died in April.Dave was active in the Beacon from at least the early 60s to 70s. He was a member of the unsuccessful attempt on the Welsh CA championship team 12 hr where he did 230 miles backing up Mick de Mouilpied and myself,after Jeff Gould retired (close to his parents' house!) with a seized pedal.Dave was a regular supporter of club Youth Hostel weekends before he moved to Cheshire. I have a photo of him wringing out his socks after coming to a stop in the middle of a ford at Tissington on one such w/e
