inserting back wheel with rear facing drop-outs

Post by Ringo » 12 May 2009 12:16

don't know if its just mental fatigue because of all my recent uni work but i'm having some real trouble inserting the rear wheel on my tt bike as it has rear facing drop-outs. i really don't see any way it could possibly go in. but i managed it last year fine, just can't remember how i did it now.

could someone please jog my brain?

Just a thought--I used to have to slip the chain off the chainwheel to get it slack enough to get my back wheel in a rear facing drop out TT bike I used to have--any chance of providing us with a pic ? Have you changed the chain or is it shorter ?

cheers, i figured it out in the end. like i said, i knew how to do it last year. it's just been that long i'd forgot what i did. i had to put the chain on my small chainring and biggest gear and then strech the chain over my casette so it would slide in under the rear mech. i was trying to do it the normal way where you'd just turn the bike upside down and drop it into the normal drop out.

i knew it would come to me eventually

cheers for the help anyway.
