I've been a folder enthusiasts for 15 years or so. Just completed a short tour on the Brompton. Train Bournville- Manchester for CTC meeting, train Manchester to Skipton, bike Skipton to Grassington to meet friends at Grassington House Hotel, bike to Kilburn and overnight at excellent pub, bike to Ampleforth for lunch and then on to York for trains home to Bournville. c100 miles cycling with overnight bag, 6 different trains. Average speed was not high but rode every hill and comfortably kept up with friends on conventional bikes. If I could have only one vehicle it would be the tough little Brompton.
