Anyone out there fitted a ahead stem on a traditional threaded fork using a quill adaptor?

Like one of these:

Andy

I have one fitted to my winter bike and have had no problems.

Had it for approx 6 months and hasn't let me down

It has the added advantage over a modern a head set as you can adjust the height; (but not by much)

I bought one from Halfords for about £5 in 2005 - it's still on my TT bike and I've never had any problems with it

I fitted one on my Look ten years ago and no problems. imo it's a better arrangement than ahead system as a good quality threaded headset will last for years without need of adjustment whereas I find I have to adjust aheads every so often.
