Never used them but I did investigate and decided against on the basis that:

- having heard of instances of dangerous gear jumps on a compact gear arrangements (ok on a normal race gear set up).
- if you convert one bike, then it becomes necessary to convert the rest.
- the cost

I was talking about these to someone very knowledgeable just last week as i was thinking about trying them. Apparently you can set them up (by rotating them in relation to the crank arms) for hills, flats etc. But they dont do everything well. If you can push a big gear on the flat for instance then that 54 outer will feel like a 57 and thats their real benefit i think.

Q rings are currently offering 30 day money back guarantee. If not 100% satisfied you can send them back for a refund. Worth a try then I'd say

Yes pretty much wat someone else said john, and reduces lactic acid build up. Makin uou push a bigger gear for longer.155quid tho and if no use. Plus need to train muscles differently, and theres a bedding in process. Would not try them till winter training. But do they eliminate the deadspot?

Arnt they the same sort of thing as the Bio Pace chain rings from years ago?

Okay the Bio Pace were not adjustable, but in principle I think that they are same?

I also seem to recall that if your rode with a high cadence, then there wasn't much advantage, more info HERE

As fitted to the Holdsworth Professional circa 1990.

Ditched them after a few weeks.

Yes indeed, and my Holdsworth Professional is hanging up in my loft, its worth bugger all but I just cannot bear to chuck it out.

In fact I found the receipt for it the other day, £499 from Peddlers in Worcester. Reynolds 531c frame with a Shimano 105 groupset.

Looks like I was. :x

However, I have just looked and it was actually £449, not £499. I wonder if its to late to ask for a price match?
