Having ridden on Brooks saddles all my life I am now finding them not so comfortable and have disposed of several. Its amazing what people will buy on Ebay when it comes to Brooks saddles. However it does leave me with a problem of what saddle to choose and I would welcome members thoughts and advice. My cycling is purely touring with many hours spent in the saddle!! No bacon slicers please!!

Difficult to recommend. I like my Brooks apart from the weight. I've used old (original) and current versions of Specialised body geometry on most bikes for 10 years. New ones look sleaker but are less comfortable IMHO. Charles has an interesting new design and George swears by another odd shaped one which I was thinking of trying if I ever lose faith in current ones. Biggest issue for me on LEJOG was that what's OK for 100+ one day can be no good the next
I find that as I get older and bonier around the back end, the Rolls, as suggested by Andy, does very well. I planted my rear on a well Neatsfoot oiled and copper rivetted Brookes for many years, but when that died of old age the Rolls replaced it and we remain very happy together. And they don't cost a lot.
Saddles are much a personal thing and what may be good for some will be terrible for others.
Plus our shape must change over the years as I used to ride the Rolls saddles and thought it was really comfy. However, when I built up my Audax bike and put a Rolls saddle on it, it was awful and didn't even last the week.
I am now very much a Selle Italia SLR Gel Flow man, and all my bikes have the same saddle.
