Fan for turbo training

Post by laurence_cooley » 28 Jan 2014 22:10

Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent fan for use while turbo training? Not having a garage, my turbo rides are indoors at 20 degrees. The cheap office fan I'm using at the moment isn't really generating enough airflow, so if anyone knows of a better (not too expensive) option, I'd be keen to hear about it.

The biggest fan that you can either afford or can fit in the space that you have available to be honest! I use a 20" flooring standing fan that I bought from Homebase, when they cleared out the summer stock in the winter a few years ago, I seem to recall that it was only about £20 or so?

I have a technical approach to adjusting the speed of the fan to, its a one metre length of cane that I prod the buttons with. While I am warming up I dont have the fan on at all, then as I get going I adjust the speed of the fan by "jousting" the buttons...

I tell my lad someone is at the door for him. Then when he comes down stairs I get him to turn up the fan. The only problem is he is not falling for it this week.

It won't be long before you can get one with Bluetooth that you can control via an iPhone/Android app.
