Richard Penn (of Its All About the Bike fame) brought one to Bike Lounge at the Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath. I think he had gone on a course and made it as the practical exercise. It really didn't look right to me especially the joints. But it was undoubtedly ride able.

I seem to remember quite a few bamboo framed bikes at the national cycle museum in Wales. They must have been all the rage around the turn of the century, so much so that when steel became readily available some manufacturers mimicked the bamboo style!
