Bar tape 'shape'

Post by dweben » 04 Jul 2014 20:19

On my old bike I've just got standard alu bars which are round, not flat like some carbon bars on the flat bits.

On my new bike it's flat... is this achieved just using gel pads under the bar tape? Do you place some on top, and twice as many on the front/back?

Reason being I have nerve damage throughout my right hand/wrist and round bars, either road or mtb always tired my tendons out, much moreso when on the mtb (where I get the claw!!) but does apply to more sedate road rides when using the tops of the bars - touring for example.

Have you got yourself a set of ergo bars that have ovalised tops? I have them on my 3T Ergo Pro bars too.
