Bottom Brackets: English versus Italian threads.
English: 68mm BC 1.37
Italian: 70mm M36
Useful to know, if you keep forgetting the difference between bottom bracket sizes when purchasing online.
*This is possibly the most boring message ever posted on this board.

Or......simply fit a Hope stainless steel bottom bracket and you'll never have to think about it again?
Plus, "if" in the unlikely event that there bearings fail, then just replace the bearings....simples really

All my bikes have Hope bottom brackets with 1000's miles on them, no problems what so ever.Philip Whiteman wrote:I'm afraid that my experience has not been so positive. I may have had an unlucky draw. I have second pair in stock and will record their durability.AlanW wrote:All my bikes have Hope bottom brackets with 1000's miles on them, no problems what so ever.Philip Whiteman wrote:I'm afraid that my experience has not been so positive. I am truly amazed that it failed in such a short space of time, did you contact Hope direct about it because their customer service is superb.Philip Whiteman wrote:I may have had an unlucky draw. Yes, but at a whopper of a price!laurence_cooley wrote:If not, I hear Chris King ones are good...
I also have a ceramic Hope bottom bracket in one of my bikes and IMHO its not any better or any more durable than the stainless steel ones which are 30 odd pounds cheaper.
