Mudguards for 28 mm tyres

Post by slogfester » 08 Aug 2017 12:13

Are there any split-mudguards that will fit a bike (Van Nicholas Yukon) WITH eyelets and 700 x 28 mm tyres? There is not enough clearance to get full large mudguards under my brake calipers (up to 25 mm tyres are fine), but I do have eyelets front and back.
I can only find this type which attach to the forks with a strap. I presume these would be inferior to those attached to the eyelets?

Thanks

Not eyelet mounted but better that strap fixings.

I reckon that if you give St John St Cycles a call, they could help. They stock virtually everything and anything. https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/

According to SKS and reviews, max width is 25 mm. Have you managed to fit them with 28 mm Gazza?

Gave up looking. Given the move to wider tyres, seems there is a big hole in the market.

I have hopefully solved it by managing to squeeze an old pair of wider sks mudguards under the brake caliper.
