Did not really want to step forward and scare potential apprentice ride leaders away but we're Thursday lunchtime and still no B or C ride advertised for this week-end. So I'll step in so that there's something on the menu for those who want to eat but don't dare to cook!
I propose a more reasonable ride than what I've been doing lately. A nice little gentle flat ride to Chesterton Windmill:
103 km / 64 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39509632.
I expect the average speed to be around 14 mph but if some struggle a bit, we'll wind it down to 13 mph.
Return ETA 14:00
Café stop will be half-way at the nice Lighthorne Pavilion Café.
Hope I'll see many of you at the BH for a 9:00 departure.
Ced. G.
Ian Gannon
Steve Vaughan
Mark Stammers
Please note that due to medical reasons I use a handle-bar extender, a bit like TT-bars. I use this to relief the pain of NHS diagnosed trapped nerves in my wrists and elbow. I do NOT use these to ride like a TT racer, to draft behind others or similar performance seeking stunts.
Every bike ride, be it commute, ride alone or in group, entails its share of risks (bad road surface, motorised traffic, natural elements, our or other riders' mistakes or inattentions...). This is common knowledge and we all ride at our own risk. Nevertheless if my use of this extender this makes you feel uncomfortable, please do not join my rides.

Ended up participating:
Ian Gannon
Ced. G. (L)
Mark Stammers
Vince Tennant
All complaining it was too fast at the start, but all pushing !!!
Windmill still not fixed and sails still missing.
Let's pretend the ridiculously long wait at the café allowed us to rest properly instead of cooling down too much.
Overall a nice brisky windy ride with nice folks:
