D Run to watch the CG Road Race

Post by Dave Cox » 05 Aug 2022 18:49

I'll be riding out to Hampton on the Hill to watch the CG Road Race (7th August !) if anyone wants to join me. I've been in Hong Kong and off the bike for 5 weeks and jet lagged so it will probably be at D minus pace. Leave Black Horse at 9.30 BST and be bringing some iron rations. If there's time then Hatton Locks isn't far from the route for a coffee.

Hi Dave,
I am very tempted to see this event tomorrow.
Wasn't sure I could as I had a long ride today, but didn't finished rinsed, so might be able to muster enough energy to go there tomorrow.
Won't go with the other group as likely to be too fast for me but would be OK with your gentlest stroll possible there
When I was considering going there I adapted Matt's route to make it as short as possible: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/40470192
Which route are you planning to take?

If I can get out of bed early enough and be at the BH for 9:30 to join you if you'll have me.
If I am not there, means I didn't make it out of bed.

You'd be very welcome Ced. I'm going via Man on the Moon, Peacock, past KN Golf Club, over M42 past Diamond Racing Stable, left to Tanworth, up Pig Trot Lane, Lowsonford, Pinley, Norton Curlieu Lane, towards Norton Lindsey, left Warwick Rd, then left Hampton on the Hill.

Sounds like a good route. Let's hope I have a good night. If not there, don't wait for me
