- have this long ride as close as possible from the longest day of the year
- to give more time for some people to get miles under their belts
- to offer more 200k rides opportunities for those only interested in these and not the 300k itself.

This ride being much flatter than the past 2 weeks, I expect the average speed to go back up a bit to around14 mph, but as usual, we'll keep focusing on managing the energy, hydration and effort over the whole ride bearing in mind and adapting to the speed of the slowest participant.
I propose 1 café stop midway and many smaller roadside stops for cereal/chocolate bars / gels (so bring your ammunitions).
Proposed stop at 101km into the ride at https://www.courtfarmshop.co.uk/shop/co ... icatessen/. Looks more like savoury than cake. If really problematic, please suggest alternatives.
The idea of 2 café stop at approx 40 and 80 miles (https://decades-cafe.business.site/ in Mickelton at 66km and https://www.revillsfarmshop.co.uk/ near Defford at 132km) sounds tempting too but I just fear than this might add some time to an already long ride. But I am not fussed and if the majority prefers 2 stops, we'll amend the plan.
Meeting at the BH for a 8:15 departure. Return ETA 18:30 earliest depending on pace and length of stops

Please note that due to medical reasons I use a handle-bar extender, a bit like TT-bars. I use this to relief the pain of NHS diagnosed trapped nerves in my wrists and elbow. I do NOT use these to ride like a TT racer, to draft behind others or similar performance seeking stunts.
Every bike ride, be it commute, ride alone or in group, entails its share of risks (bad road surface, motorised traffic, natural elements, our or other riders' mistakes or inattentions...). This is common knowledge and we all ride at our own risk. Nevertheless if my use of this extender this makes you feel uncomfortable, please do not join my rides.
