Let's keep putting some more distance under our belts with another 200k ride for our plan to do a 300km later this year
For Sunday 29th May, I propose a ride to a destination I believe never included in club rides before: Cheltenham.
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/35686060
200 km / 124.3 mi.
I expect the average speed to be around 14 mph if we are several and keep taking turn at the front or more 13mph if we are few or not in a good day.
I propose 1 café stop midway in Cheltenham (either in Pittville park or Montpellier Gardens in one of the 4 cafés of http://www.inthepark.co.uk/ .
There will also be many smaller roadside stops for cereal/chocolate bars/gels/ice creams/EPO/Nandrolone (so bring your ammunitions).
Meeting at the BH for a 8:30 departure. Return ETA 18:00 approx depending on pace and length of stop.

Please note that due to medical reasons I use a handle-bar extender, a bit like TT-bars. I use this to relief the pain of NHS diagnosed trapped nerves in my wrists and elbow. I do NOT use these to ride like a TT racer, to draft behind others or similar performance seeking stunts.
Every bike ride, be it commute, ride alone or in group, entails its share of risks (bad road surface, motorised traffic, natural elements, our or other riders' mistakes or inattentions...). This is common knowledge and we all ride at our own risk. Nevertheless if my use of this extender this makes you feel uncomfortable, please do not join my rides.
Sunday 29th May. 200k/124miles ride to Cheltenham at 13/14 mph. Departure 8:30

Thanks Cedric another great day out. Bad choice if kit for me resulting in near hyperthermia at the mid way point. But bizarly ended up catching the sun. And we missed the rain. Result

Thanks for coming Keith. These rides only exist because riders come to them. I am just a catalyst.
Yep a shame the weather was not like it had been all week. My choice of café 'in the park' would have great with a bit of sun and a few more degrees. Instead what we needed was an indoor one, by the stove to treat your arms and my hands. But we made it back safely and faster than you in your avenger
Ready to do it again when you want. Amended the route to avoid all these main road near Stratford and all the Redditch car maze.
