Leader planning for August Intro Ride

Post by George » 25 Jul 2022 13:03

In the next day or two, I'd like to get some info up about our next Intro Ride, so that there's enough time for word to go around amongst prospective participants. However, we don't yet have a leader and an assistant lined up. Is anyone available to take this on? The ride is scheduled for Sunday 7 August. I can provide destination/route suggestions plus advice, and Laurence will handle the publicity.

If I don't get a volunteer in the next couple of days, we have two fall-back options:
1) Mariana has offered to lead, if we switch to the following Sunday (14 August).
2) I can lead myself on 7 August, if someone else is available to lead on 4 September. (I'm currently down to lead in September, and was going to lead a B run on 7 August, but could swap the two arrangements over if necessary.)
Any thoughts on those options, anyone?

Just to note that the Commonwealth Games road races are on 7 August, if that figures into your calculations.

Okay, after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, the proposal now is:

- Mariana and Paul lead on 14 August
- Steve Vaughan and I lead on 4 September

Is that good for everyone?

I had indeed forgotten that, Laurence. Thanks for reminding me. (Although, form what I've read, it's going to be more of a city centre crit than a proper road race... but still.)
