OK, I hope that putting it on a Sunday will attract more participants than last week Saturday ride, but with Monday being a Bank Holiday, I am not sure

expected speed 14mph average.
Quick café stop at the fisheries café.

Meeting at the BH for a 9am departure

NB1: Please note that due to medical reasons I use a handle-bar extender, a bit like TT-bars. I use this to relief the pain of NHS diagnosed trapped nerves in my wrists and elbow. I do NOT use these to ride like a TT racer, to draft behind others or similar performance seeking stunts.
Every bike ride, be it commute, ride alone or in group, entails its share of risks (bad road surface, motorised traffic, natural elements, our or other riders' mistakes or inattentions...). This is common knowledge and we all ride at our own risk. Nevertheless if my use of this extender this makes you feel uncomfortable, please do not join my rides.

NB2: Please also note that due to a combination of overloaded bike, love handles and betablockers, I am slow going uphill. Do not expect Alps climbing performance from me. So do not be surprised if you'll probably all overtake me during climbs. We'll regroup at the top and carry on from there.

What a gorgeous day it's been for a great ride.
Unfortunately Mark couldn't make it so we ended up being 'only' 5 participants (such a welcome change compared to last week :D ):
Kamran Anwar
Richard Chaplin
Ian Gannon
Ced G (L)
James Perrett

Sped to the café at 15mph despite a nicely hilly profile.
Didn't realise it had been 9 years since my last visit.
The lakes were so low that there was no chance any fish could hide in such shallow waters. I hope the A ride at the lavender were luckier and had some nice catch ;-)
Came back at a slightly more reasonable pace.

Added a few miles to avoid that unpleasant stony footpath and fixed the couple of Strava artefacts if some are interested to download a revised improved version:
