FINAL CLUB RUN SCORES 2021/2022

Hi all,

the final club run scores for the 2021/2022 season (October 2021 to end of September 2022) are listed below. Congratulations to Cedric for winning this year's trophy but also huge congratulations and thanks goes to Mariana and Paul Balfe for both leading more than 20 rides this year, and scoring points that would have won them the trophy in any other year. Cedric led for the last 32 weeks of the year, so massively deserves the trophy...Felicitations!

Some end of season stats for your delectation. We actually had club runs every week this year, which is a huge improvement from last year's pandemic-stricken season when we were only allowed to ride for 32 of the 52 weeks. In all:

- We had 1,265 club run riders over the year, at a healthy average of 24.3 people per week.
- There were 165 different people scoring points in the year, although 46 of those only rode once.
- There were 36 females who scored club run points, representing 22% of all riders...better than the last few years, but still not high enough.
- There are still not enough different leaders, and it is this that we'll try to increase in this new season.

We now have FOUR BC trained club run leaders who can take official BC rides, thereby providing a pathway for riders new to cycling to start riding in aa group some of whom may progress to club runs, and there is a quick survey that all members will soon receive where we want to explore the reasons why some people are reluctant to lead, and we encourage brutal honesty please when you receive this.

Who would have thought that this quest for a 300k would eventually lead me there?
There is no ride without a group. Thanks to all those who came and rode whether long-time partners or new cycling sidekicks.
