CANCELLED Sunday 4th Dec, British Cycling Guided Ride to Earlswood Lakes, 28 miles at approx 12mph. 9am depart.
VERY COLD + RAIN = CANCELLED.
Sorry, but its got to be apleasure, not a duty.
One of the new participant on last week BC Guided Ride has expressed the wish to ride again and bring a friend of his.
So I will happily run the BC guided ride to Earlswood Lakes again this week.
9am start from The Black Horse car park, Northfield.
Pace should be about 12mph +/-1
We will be stopping at Earlswood Craft Centre Cafe at 18 miles to refuel. Can't wait to sample their 'Cyclist breakfast' again

or if from the BRCC and not busy volunteering at the CX event in Walsall (or getting muddy racing), just reply to this thread as usual
Please note that the weather forecast is quite cold so check in the morning that the ride hasn't been cancelled in case it got icy overnight.

NB1: Please note that due to medical reasons I use a handle-bar extender, a bit like TT-bars. I use this to relief the pain of NHS diagnosed trapped nerves in my wrists and elbows. I do NOT use these to ride like a TT racer, to draft behind others or similar performance seeking stunts.
Every bike ride, be it commute, ride alone or in group, entails its share of risks (bad road surface, motorised traffic, natural elements, our or other riders' mistakes or inattentions...). This is common knowledge and we all ride at our own risk. Nevertheless if my use of this extender makes you feel uncomfortable, please do not join my rides.
NB2: Please also note that due to a combination of overloaded bike, love handles and betablockers, I am slow going uphill. Do not expect Alps climbing performance from me. So do not be surprised if you'll probably all overtake me during climbs. We'll regroup at the top and carry on from there.

Wise choice. Must admit I am a bit apprehensive of the temp tomorrow. Just put the ride up as Kevan wanted to try again, but hoping I won't pay with a pneunomiaMariana278 wrote: ↑03 Dec 2022 09:45Hi ced im bailing out tomorrow, I will go out today as it’s a bit warmer have fun
Yesterday facebook showed me a pic of a club ride to Worcester ten years ago where we left at -1° and came back at 3° only. I was brave back then !

Hello. I have to be at King's Heath Boys school for 11am for a match but would like to join your ride for 2 hrs if ok. Thanks. See you at 9am. Will check in morning in case it's cancelled as advised. Thanks.

The more we'll be, the warmer we'll keep

Bit of drizzle here. Forecast is rain until 12. So very cold + rain, I prefer to cancel the ride. Sorry
