Tempted to do a 100 miles, a 200km or even a 300km ride as part of your 2023 new year's resolutions?

You've already done some 60/70 miles rides and wonder whether you could go further, much further?
This could be of interest to you.

As per 2022, I am considering again running another series of rides to be aiming for 100-milers by end of April, 200km rides from early May and a 300k end of June:
Below is a plan to ramp up from early March (when hopefully temperatures should start to be a little less wintery).
It will be adjusted/finalised in the next few weeks but the frame is there.
05/03/2023 70 km / 43.5 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37728908 Chaddesley Corbett- Feckenham
12/03/2023 will be using George's 75km/47mi ride
19/03/2023 86 km / 54 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37156992 Kenilworth
26/03/2023 98 km / 61 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37065751 Charlecote
02/04/2023 110 km / 68 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36999226 Chipping Campden
09/04/2023 127 km / 79 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39444595 Tewkesbury
16/04/2023 146 km / 91 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36423211 Moreton in Marsh-Chipping Campden
23/04/2023 162 km / 101 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39074510 Whichford via Edge Hill
30/04/2023 173 km / 107 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39017458 Ledbury with 1/2 LMTT included
07/05/2023 180 km / 112 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39196266 Countryside wanderings
13 or 14/05/2023 199 km / 123 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36563020 Tewkesbury Wellesbourne
20 or 21/05/2023 200 km / 124 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39355788 Tewkesbury Evesham Charlecote
27 or 28/05/2023 200 km / 124 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/35686060 Cheltenham
03 or 04/06/2023 208 km / 123 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41693492 Tewksbury Pershore Mickelton
...
Will be away for 12 days to do JOGLE, so you'll have to keep fit without me if you want to go all the way up to 300k
...
24 or 25/06/2023 199 km / 124 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39529921 Whichford (without Edgehill) - Evesham
SATURDAY 24/06/2023 226 km / 140.5 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38468571 Loop of Birmingham
SATURDAY 01/07/2023 (or maybe 24/06 TBC) 313 km / 195 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31108233 Superloop of Birmingham (route to be finalised)

And NO, before anyone asks, I do not intend to push the madness to the 400k mark. 300 is plenty enough!

NB1: the idea is to help riders who've never done such long rides get there as easily as possible benefiting from the emulation and support of a like-minded group. Expert randonneurs for which this is already a piece of cake would be tolerated  but expected pace of 13-14mph would not change

NB2: Being interested for the 'main event' does in no way require attendance to every preliminary 'ramp-up' rides. Similarly you can start with us and stop any time (once you've reach what you feel is your limit, once the time constraint for longer rides is no longer possible for you or once you got bored of the company  )

Any questions or comments or to express an interest, feel free to let me know

I'm still having flashbacks about how broken I was last time, riding through Birmingham at 1am trying to clock my miles up to 300k but sure why not!!

Naomi, you're not really helping me in making this proposal look attractive!  A bit of Marketing please :D

If I remember correctly you were OK until the 300k. It was only during the last hour where we pushed to 320k to claim 200 miles than you became a zombi <@>

Don't forget to support the Beacon's 120, 200 and 300km permanent and calendar audaxes. It would be good to see them on the above schedule too. They are friendly club events with plenty of cake opportunities along the route.

I recommend this 250km with less than 200m ascent https://strava.app.link/8nd8rEDf6wb

Looks like much less 'volunteers' for this challenge this year. Not done proper group size calculations but I remember we had bigger groups. Probably my fault putting most of these rides on Saturdays.
So if tempted by a longer than average club ride (with no commitment for longer ones later) but cannot do Saturdays, please be informed that I'm planning a 100 miles 14mph ride on Sunday 28th May at 8am on the 'traditional' route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/35904455
