If interested to join me 9:00 start from the BH.

NB1: Please note that due to medical reasons I use a handle-bar extender, a bit like TT-bars. I use this to relief the pain of NHS diagnosed trapped nerves in my wrists and elbows. I do NOT use these to ride like a TT racer, to draft behind others or similar performance seeking stunts.
Every bike ride, be it commute, ride alone or in group, entails its share of risks (bad road surface, motorised traffic, natural elements, our or other riders' mistakes or inattentions...). This is common knowledge and we all ride at our own risk. Nevertheless if my use of this extender, despite sanctioned by the BRCC committee, makes you feel uncomfortable, please do not join my rides.
NB2: Please also note that due to a combination of overloaded bike, love handles and betablockers, I am slow going uphill. Do not expect Alps climbing performance from me. So do not be surprised if you'll probably all overtake me during climbs. We'll regroup at the top and carry on from there.

Glad you enjoyed. So did I. Good sometimes to push yourself a bit.
Sorry to hear bout your misfortune. Hope the bike is OK!
I shouldn't have said earlier that drivers were particularly well behaved today, seems like it brought the bad luck onto you.

Ansel had a flat and gear indexing issues following his 200k yesterday so he pulled out.
But several others joined.
The ride eventually consisted of:
Neil Evanson
Ced G. (L)
Mark Stammers
Vince Tennant
Will Woodhouse
Andrew Wrightson
The ride started at a good sustained speed. The stop to admire the dinosaur in Drakes Broughton seems to have instilled fear in some who then took the lead and pushed faster (or was it the starving stomachs desperate to reach the pub which powered the legs more vigorously?).
After the nice brunch for all I thought the pace would slow down a bit due to bikes being more heavily loaded but either due to a slight southern tailwind or due to steroid hidden in the food I ended up raising the speed by nearly another mph despite my call for a more civilised pace!!
Thanks to all for coming, for easing off a bit at the end while a couple of us started to tire a bit and for being great company overall.
