Tuesday evening and still no C ride advertised. Will be away tomorrow and Thursday so publishing one Friday only would be a bit late. So I'll step forward again, please don't shoot. If someone wants to advertise another C, please feel free, I have no issue with that, like a buffet restaurant, the more choice the better IMHO.
I'll be going south for a flat route with a stop for coffee and cake halfway in Bishampton. Route will be https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43091466
Average speed target: 14mph.
Meet at the BH for an 8:30 start so that we should be back in Northfield for 2 pm.
Max 8 riders:
Wayne Gibbs
Ced G (L)
Leigh Hopkins
Ansel Nguyen
Mariana Sorrill
David Tipton
Will Woodhouse
NB1: Please note that due to medical reasons I use a handle-bar extender, a bit like TT-bars. I use this to relief the pain of NHS diagnosed trapped nerves in my wrists and elbows. I do NOT use these to ride like a TT racer, to draft behind others or similar performance seeking stunts.
Every bike ride, be it commute, ride alone or in group, entails its share of risks (bad road surface, motorised traffic, natural elements, our or other riders' mistakes or inattentions...). This is common knowledge and we all ride at our own risk. Nevertheless if my use of this extender, despite sanctioned by the BRCC committee, makes you feel uncomfortable, please do not join my rides.
NB2: Please also note that due to a combination of overloaded tool bag and betablockers, I am slow going uphill. Do not expect Alps climbing performance from me. So do not be surprised if you'll probably all overtake me during climbs. We'll regroup at the top and carry on from there.
Looking for a café for a stop in one of your ride? Why not use Mark's Magic Map to select a cyclist vetted place close to your route?.

Hi Ced,
As it looks like you've still got spaces available, I'll join you on this one.

Your Average Joe. Fitter than some, not as fit as others.

With one 'sleeping beauty false start' we ended only 6 for this ride:
Wayne Gibbs
Ced G (L)
Leigh Hopkins
Ansel Nguyen
Mariana Sorrill
David Tipton
Started a bit nippy but ended up sunny and all along was speedy as we finished it with a 14.5mph average just a tiny bit in B territory.
