WEEKLY UPDATE

So as you may have gathered, not only did the Beacon National Grasstracks have to contend with Travellers on the track last week, this week it had to be postponed again due to weather warnings...good Grief!! Ade is now looking to the end of August for a re-schedule so we can expect locusts or a new ice age to befall us then...

If you watched Midlands Today, you would have seen Matt Russell front and centre on the tv at the Dudley Grand Prix on Friday evening, that looked a great event, and well done Matt. At this time of the year, there's so much going on, and riders are off everywhere doing exciting things, so if you're a FOMO geek then this is the time you'll come out in pimples...we had people in the Alps, Si Walker riding the length of France, time triallists blasting around and the audaxers pushing some more boundaries. It's fabulous to see, and if you are doing something exciting, either here in the UK or abroad, please don't be shy in posting some piccies to the Beacon Facebook page, it can be inspiring!

Good to see the club runs having a good week, and thanks again to the leaders, namely Karl Walton, Cedric, Mick Stanford and Richard Chaplin...great rides all round.

So what's coming up - it's the infamous Kidderminster Killer this Saturday taking the main event star this week...if you're riding, then good luck, it's a beast and everyone who finishes knows that they have had a right good kicking...

Alan Weaver has organised another 2-day YHA trip, this time to Bakewell on Tuesday/Wednesday 15th/16th August...why not go along and try it...details on the Fb page as usual.

The next Beacon Time Trial is on Tuesday 8th August and is a 2-up TT for road bikes only. The emphasis is on fun and there will be prizes on the day for 1st all female team, 1st mixed team and 1st all male team, so start looking for a partner and come along...it's a great way to have a go at a time trial.

Anyway, club runs happen nearly every week, so why not have a go at leading one this week, you know it makes sense.

Have a great week

Phil
