WEEKLY UPDATE:

Well, who ordered the sunshine? That was fabulous, eh? and if you didn't venture outside in the last 9 days, and preferred those video games that the children play nowadays, then you missed a great big dollop of excessive heat. Good work for those riding long at the weekend, including Dave Tipton's first ever 200kms ride on Saturday on the ride led by Cedric...great work all. Matt Hale said in a midweek fit of bravado that he would lead a ride to Malvern, but made it no further that seventeen breweries, for (no doubt) iced coffees and oatmeal calippos...

Stuart Jones did lead a ride out to the wilds of Broadway, losing some inuit adventurers along the way, who turned for home to avoid the furnace in the foothills of Childswickham (twinned with Death Valley), whilst Dave Cox and Mick Stanford led an orderly D and BC ride respectively, each deciding against the mankini in Beacon colours for more suitable attire.

Speaking of Stuart, he has organised a Beacon track night at Stourport outdoor track this coming Friday, why not go along and have a shufty...

Speaking of racing, it's the final 10-mile TT of the season tomorrow (12th September) on the K36/10 course in Earlswood - get yourself down there! It's good to see the cross season has started and our favourite junior ginger Matt Russell who finished 4th despite a hefty fall in practice, and a visit to the first aid tent. Not quite sure who else rode, but pick two from these three Jason Halstead, Martin Davies and Alberto Recchioni and hope that your backslapping is accurate.

Great to follow the adventures of Si Turner, Si Walker and Alan Weaver touring in northern Spain in 40c heat, and riding from the coast to Pamplona, home of the famous bull run... some lovely photos to see for those that follow them...bien trabajo, senors

so keep the hokum coming....and as I have said loads of time, let me have notice of your rides, races or human stories, so I can wildly exaggerate your achievements... :D Get your ride organised and last word (and therefore kudos of the week) goes to Chris Ashford, stalwart of Beacon past, who got married at the weekend...about time too, matey!

Phil
