Weekly Club Update and Club runs for the weekend of 9th and 10th of December

WEEKLY UPDATE:

So if you're going to have a loss of cycling mojo, now is the time to do it, eh?...the weather is pants, Christmas is coming, all your cycling adventures for the year are over, the bikes are continually dirty and in need of a wash, so don't feel guilty about all this...enjoy the ennui, do other things, we spend more time planning next years adventures than riding at the moment, so pig out, over-indulge, Zwift can wait till the new year, go for a walk or run instead.

An optimistic first paragraph? :D Perhaps not, but some are still out racing, namely our young racer/randonneur Matt Russell, who finished every race in the WMCCL, and even rode through snow and sleet on Sunday at the last race of the WMCCL season in Wolverhampton finishing a creditable 6th despite being knocked off his bike at the first corner...so raise your pint/white wine glasses to Matt and his love of cycling, he's an example to us all.

It's the AGM this week, it's on zoom on Thursday night at 18:30...you will all have received an email invite (check your spam if you haven't), and 'ho hum', I hear you cry, 'a committee meeting on a cold wet night, no chance' ...but it's on ZOOM, so you don't even have to leave the warmth of your bed if you don't want to, why not dial in whilst in your jimjams (if you are, there is no need to put your camera on!) and hear about where we are as a club, our plans for next year in terms of the Academy, how we will run club runs differently etc, and to welcome comment, insight or praise (no one ever gives that, we won't be holding our collective breaths! :o ). It's your club, so if you feel strongly about anything, or you have had a epiphany and want to contribute to the activities of the club going forward, we would just love to hear from you. Don't forget, the committee are all humble servants to the membership, just volunteering our time and every club needs such enthusiasts who are prepared to give time to help others enjoy this sport/hobby we all love. Take a look at the club reports on the members page of the message board...yes, they may be lengthy, but take from them the dedication and range of activities we provide as a club... and consider whether you could help out or improve things.

That's it for this week...hope to see at least some of you at the AGM on Thursday, but if you're not there, we will just assume that you love us all, you worship the ground we walk on and could not even consider that things could be bettered...that's a far better emotion for us to adopt that a feeling that you can't be bothered :D ?

Enjoy your week

Phil
