WEEKLY UPDATE:
Football or Le Tour?...by God, the former is hard to watch (for those that care) but the second has started wonderfully with a couple of great stages, and looking forward to see how it all pans out.. and 'Tour' seems to be the operative word, as it seems as if there are plenty of Beacon people out touring...John Williams and Karl Walton are on a tour of the Low Countries as we speak, and me, Andy W and Nick S set out to join them tomorrow and Si Turner also seems to be off on a Netherlands tour, so that's the place to be seen... and all this on the back of last weeks one-day trip to Weston and Alan Weaver's excellent two-day trip at the weekend. Thanks to Alan for organising this and for the 10 or so riders who joined him...great work.
Only two club runs out at the weekend, Stuart Jones' trip up to the golf ball atop Titterstone Clee, and Phil Gameson's B-ride to Wyre Forest...let's get a C and D ride back this weekend, folks!
It really is high season for cycling at present, so instead of riding solo or even if you're still tied to indoor cycling, why not lead a ride, or suggest an adventure...that's the beauty of this club, if you suggest something - however wacky, you're bound to get someone join you, so whether it's a club run, a tour, a gravel ride (can I persuade someone to organise a gravel club ride perhaps in the Forest of Dean???) or a go at MTB'ing, just do it.
Two quick things to finish...the summer kit order has arrived so please sort our with Mariana when you can collect your kit, and it's now only 3 weeks to the National Grasstrack championships at Ackers, hosted by Beacon RCC...It's on Saturday 20th July, so get along to help, watch or support if you can.
That's it, I'm riding to Holland tomorrow, where Beacon riders are congregating for some reason... see you next week, chock full of Gouda
