Espresso Barn, Long Marston

Decent venue, caters well for cyclists-a little pricey, but good quality

The Larch Barn, Been Savage https://www.thelarchbarn.co.uk/

Been open about a year, was going to go to the Cleobury cafe, but this was a good alternative. Seemed to be plenty of room, including lots of outdoor picnic benches. Great views of Clee Hill and a decent menu (if slightly on the pricey side)

They recommended booking ahead as a popular stop with other cycling clubs

Pop into gilks garage cafe on the edge of Kineton, the other day. Good food and cycle friendly.

Worth a summer club run maybe.

Just visited The View café at Hill Farm Marina which is about half a mile south of Wootton Wawen on the A3400. Very good and reasonable prices.

This is an ex-cafe suggestion for a venue used on previous club runs.

Ombersley Farm Shop and Cafe burnt down last night, so no longer available unless you like eating over done toast.

Having done a bit of browsing on the Cycling Cafés Map, I decided to go to a previously unvisited café today: The Orchard Tea Room/The Scrumpy House Restaurant at Weston's Cider Mill near Much Marcle.

It was really good: lots of indoor and outdoor seating, nice food, reasonable prices, scenic location served by an excellent lane network. One obvious drawback: it's too far for a standard club run. Minimum round-trip distance is roughly 100 miles; scenic route options are likely to be more. However, those distances are doable in the context of an all-day summer club run, and it's potentially useful for anyone riding to or from the Brecon Beacons or other places in that general direction. I'm minded to lead an all day B run down there myself, but I'm busy the next couple of weekends and by the time we get to November it's probably too late... maybe next year, therefore.

Worcester Perdiswell

Cafe in golf club that is open to the public. Extensive seating. A good range of breakfast fodder at cheap prices. Bicycles can be stowed within view. The entrance to the club is via Hindlip Lane just off the A38 when entering Worcester from Claines.

They have a sign declaring, "All Welcome".

Springdale Nursery and Tearoom, Old Turnpike Road, Worcester WR7 4AG

Situated just outside of Crowle, on the Hibbleton side. Great choice of cakes and sandwiches and lots of seating inside and outside, plus loads of room for bikes.

This is a cafe that already gets used, but the club recently received this message:
Good Morning.
We are a local garden centre restaurant in chaddesley Corbett, and would love you and your cycling club to drop in on us at Rowberry’s. You’re guaranteed a warm welcome, and delicious food and cakes…and a freebie for the organiser. For more info call me on 01562770058.

Gils Tea Room, Chaddesley Corbett.

Gils of Wolverley have opened their second tea room. It is located opposite The Swan in Chaddesley and was a tea room prior to the pandemic.

I have yet to check but it used to be possible for cyclists to take their bikes through the back entrance.

Not been there for a while but it was popular with cyclists and used as an audax control.

As someone with a terrible memory of places I've started plotting the cafes we've used. The link below contains the ones I've put in so far..

I was chatting to the proprietor at Island Meadow Caravan Park today. Would leaders of runs of any significant size heading that way please phone ahead to warn her? The number is 01789 488273. Thanks!

When out with Roger a week or so back, I happened to notice that the café that used to Auntea Rita's in Flyford Flavel has re-opened. Looks quite different now, so presumably new proprietors. Will try to drop by some time to see what it's like for cyclists and whether it's open on Sundays. But, of course, if anyone else is going that way before me, or has already tried it, please share share what you learn(t).

I noticed a Facebook post by Redditch R&PCC, where they mention a café that's new to me: Osco's at Blenheim Garden Centre, just to the east of Bidford, on the B road leading towards Stratford: https://maps.app.goo.gl/TU9LbY2JhMPWvtPWA

Menu suggests that's it's maybe not ideal for those whose preference is for Broadacres-style fare/prices, but handy to know about nevertheless. Open 10am to 4pm Sundays.

Roger Green has asked me to share the news that the café at Earlswood Garden Centre has reopened under new ownership and is now called 'Wave'. A website is apparently under construction.

Earlswood is too close for most club runs, but the café used to be a popular destination for intro rides and other short/slow excursions.
