Typical routes to popular club run destinations follow below - thanks to Sean Barker for providing a good number of these. If you have an alternative route to an existing destination or a route to a new destination please reply and this will be added to the relevant section.

It may be useful if you could add brief comments along the lines of "hilly 55 mile route to xxxxx using some minor lanes which get muddy after wet weather" or any other info that might be useful.

Is there any particular reason why there's not been a club run to Pershore recently? I was trying to think of alternative destinations for leading club runs in the spring, and Pershore came to mind.

Other than a curious incident involving a dog, a pram and an irate pedestrian, that I won't go into here, nothing that I'm aware of. I've used it on several occasions on solo rides and I know other clubs use it as a club run destination. Good cafe on the square that we passed on the audax last Saturday, the name of which escapes me currently...

Abbey Tea Rooms are open on a Sunday. However, I doubt their ability to handle an influx of cyclists. Some years ago, when I questioned their willingness to take groups, they were not very enthusiastic.

by laurence_cooley
There's a recent review on Google by a Halesowen member who says they were welcoming to a big group of cyclists, so perhaps it's worth a try. We could always just have one run going there, to test the water.

We went to the Abbey tea rooms about 10 years ago, when they were glad to have us because few people were going out into the countryside - because of the BSE crisis.

They coped with the club runs very well and did a good deal of beans on toast / bacon sandwich + tea or coffee for £3. However once the crisis was over they weren't interested in having us anymore because we overlapped with the Sunday lunches.

It may be that the management has changed now and want to encourage cyclists
