Is there a B run this week?

This mornings early mist gave way to a gloriously sunny and warm September day, and stunning views across the Moorlands and beyond.

On today's rather lumpy Alternative Club ride in the Staffordshire Moorlands were:-

Nick Shenton (L)
Andrew Clayton
Matt Clegg
Alistair Hey
Gareth Cadd (Good to see you after all this time mate, glad to see you back out on the bike)

We also must not forget poor old John Hunt who had driven all the way up and kindly ferried Gareth, only to find that he'd left his cycling shoes at home.

Sorry John, I'm sure we'll get some mileage out of this one for the next week or so ;-)

Thanks to those who attended & don't forget our next excursion in a few weeks time for the Cat & Fiddle Challenge.

C Run Croome Park

Dave Cox leading
Si Walker
Charlie Pearson
Rob Parker
John Deeley
Pete Norman
Simon Turner
Andy Wrightson
Huan Dong
Niall Whitehouse
Phil Ewell
Kim Shapiro
Giovanni del Vecchio
Mark McConekey
Dave Cole

Many thanks to Charlie and Andy for sweeping and guiding people home, I hope Giovanni's tyre held out on the return.
Two blowouts from a defective Conti tyre and El Presidente's cassette didn't get beyond Northfield but Dave swopped wheels or bikes and came direct.

Good day out and good company.

We also met a gentleman of 92 who had been President of Solihull CC for 20+ years back in the day!

Dave, thanks for leading today's C run, it was partially a new and interesting route for me on the outbound, really enjoyed it today.

On the A run today (Don't think there was a B run today):

Matt Hale (leading)
Ian Taylor
Keith Adcock
Matt Regan
Alan Weaver
Laurence Cooley
Craig Walmsley
Ben Walmsley
Steve Philpott
Mathew Davies

A good group today and the outbound leg was largely uneventful bar an errant Garmin and a minor incident (that we won't mention) at the café stop involving pea shingle and topiary!

Thanks everyone for a good day out

Thanks, Matt. That was a good club run even if the hill was steeper than I remembered.

Just looked at the Strava Flyby for the C run; What happened to Charlie Pearson? - a slight detour??

Charlie posted on Strava - the temporary repair held out but Giovanni's satnav plotted a route via Evesham!

Yes, we were heading for Kempsey and took a left so the Malvern hills were on our right. Checked the sat nav and put in Warndon village. Giovanni put in Rubery and it showed the same route. Oddly it took us south so eventually we hit the A46 and headed north. Nice run but a bit busy in places. Happy to say there were no further mechanicals.
