Apologies…I’m new to this club run organising lark, and this is late, so I suspect that there will be no January intro ride, but…

… as usual we need a good mix of volunteers for these rides which are proving to be as popular as ever. Just so you know the 2015 intro rides had 79 riders, excluding leaders, with 16 riders in August alone - so there is great interest, it’s not just hollow words.

So can we please, please have some ride leaders and support riders to er…support. We have more than enough competent members that you only need turn out for two Sundays a year, once as leader and once as support. If you don't feel confident as leader then just volunteer as a support rider.

Thanks for taking this on Phil. I was about to message you direct last night but stopped myself because intro rides were previously coordinated separately by Paul & Deb (who have moved to France) and I wasn't sure whether you'd been asked or had agreed to look after those too.

Put me down for May (destination Akamba) and I don't mind fielding queries from potential riders.

I'll do March. Details yet to be decided.

Hi I'd like to lead February as long as no ice. Probably to Avoncroft Museum but I'll pop out and check it first. Bring money for cake and bike locks.

I am happy to support George's intro ride on 6th March

I'll help Andy in May And lead in June.

Apologies although I've checked the route to Avoncroft today my wife has just pointed out that we are going to be in Derbyshire the first weekend in Feb. Please would someone else do this run? Happy of course to lead one later in the year.

Myself and Kevin Frobisher will take the 3rd July Intro ride. Destination to be decided!

7th Feb destination will be the cottage farm stables.

Hi Phil - unfortunately I have an ongoing injury which means I'm not riding my bike at all at the moment so can't support Dave Cole on Sunday's Intro Ride. However Phil Gameson has said he will ride as support instead. I'd like to thank him greatly for stepping in.

Phil, further to your call for leaders elsewhere:

I think it's preferable in various ways to spread the leading around. So, if you can find other people to lead, I shall wait until early next year before I volunteer again. (It's become a sort of tradition with me to make leading the Feb/March intro my first long ride of the New Year.) However, if in the immediate run-up to one of the October-December dates you find that you are really stuck, just PM me.
