Club runs - 14th February

Post by WorcsPhil » 08 Feb 2016 10:19

Another good week with 34 riders on the four rides...Especially good to see so many on the B ride, thanks to Colin for leading and encouraging others to step up. We even saw the return of Lord Craddock of Northfield.

Well, it's Valentines Day on Sunday, so bring your loved ones along to these rides:

A: Worcester Country Park - Keith Adcock
B: Halfpenny Green (Probably) - Alistair Hey
C: Vale Golf Club Bishampton - Helen Jamieson

Not sure if anyone else noticed it yesterday, but there was signage at the start of Redhill Road saying road closed for 2 days from 13th Feb. Looked at birminghams and H And W's websites but couldn't see anything to confirm. Suggest Helen and any other ride leader thinking of using this route to consider alternatives

Roadworks.org indicates that BT are installing a trench and the traffic will be controlled by lights.

The no 27 is diverted: "From 06:00 on Saturday 13th February 2016 to 22:00 on Sunday 14th February 2016, Redhill Road at Redditch Road will be closed to allow resurfacing works by Amey for Severn Trent".

I'm keeping an eye on the weather ATM, but with the road closure I'm going to change the destination to the vale golf club. They've also got a decent sized warm cafe... :D

Hi, Ill lead a B run- Pace to be determined by slowest rider. If you are looking to step up from the C run make yourself known to me at the Black horse so I can manage speed accordingly.

Destination is still to be decided.

(probably the cafe at Halfpenny green)

Many thanks for a nice decent but not overly testing route. It was certainly a new route to the Country Park that I have never followed before.

My lack of fitness following a several weeks off the bike meant that I was suffering on the way home. Dropped off a Droitwich to dawdle home and was humiliated as I was scalped by some large blokes in replica Sky kit.

37 people on club runs today.

38 if you include a dead football commentator.

Helen, thanks for leading today , a good choice of route and cafe 😉, nagging headwind on the way home was felt by all.
