Club runs - 10th July

Post by WorcsPhil » 04 Jul 2016 09:20

The nice weather on Sunday saw 33 club riders out this weekend, which is great to see. We had a new destination (Draycote Water Reservoir) from James on the A-run, which I hear was very successful and even included some early off-road sections to test the riders' resolve!

Leaders are encouraged to find new locations as per James' ride or re-visit old ones as you see fit.

This weeks rides are:

A: Volunteer required
B: 100 in 8 to Much Wenlock - Paul Johnson (this is a 08:14:50secs start, be late at your peril)
C: Lavender Hall Fisheries - Huan Dong

Big thanks to Huan who is leading for the first time, so please support him and his ride, and this is, of course an example to other potential leaders...get signed up to lead once this year...the July/August/September thread is open for suggestions!

The C run this week will be to Lavender Hall Fisheries as I think it's been a while since we've been there.

It'll be 51 miles with 2000ft of climbing (assuming I don't get lost  ) so fairly manageable for most...

The route can be found at http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?l ... _dec09.gpx

It's my first time leading and will be relying largely on my Garmin so if some of you can download the route as well I'd be most grateful! :)

Hi Paul,

What will the pace of the B run be like Sunday? Will it be comparable to the 300K ride?

It won't be fast because of it being very hilly you'll be fine.

Congrats to those 5 on the 100 in 8 run.

As the regular B runners went on the above, I took the B run to Worcs Country Park.

On the B run today;

Dave Hughes.

We (that's me, singular, obviously), amalgamated with the A run, both of them. (That's both riders, not A runs, Obviously).

We (that is me obviously) had a great time tho I did drop myself a few times just to humiliate myself for not being as fast as myself... to be fair I did wait for myself at the top of each hill, then I set off each time before I could get my breath. Such fun eh!

How many club run points do I get as leader and sweeper, and I really think that the 100 in 8 people should get some points too. Touring points maybe?

I hope you went on the front occasionally to give yourself a bit of a rest.

Thanks to Huan for leading the C ride on Sunday. Also a big thanks to the rest of the group for your company through out the ride. I enjoyed the experience.
Make sure you have finished speaking before your audience has finished listening.
