Club Runs - 24th July

Post by WorcsPhil » 18 Jul 2016 09:18

Thirty two riders out in the warmth on Sunday, with the lovely image of a trio chasing the B-run in the hope of hearing their new-found singing members at the Upton Blues Festival...The Beacon Blues Band has a nice ring to it.

On the A-run, we also passed through Upton to the languid sound of slide guitars, and we also had a rogue squirrel running under the wheels of our beloved leader...they don't get this s***e at the Tour de France

It's the Kidderminster Killer and Clee to Heaven Audaxes on Saturday, but the Sunday club run schedule is still open for anyone not doing the audaxes, or fancying a double-header (chapeau).

No volunteers to date, but the option is there for leading and riding this Sunday.

A: Volunteer required
B: Draycote Water Park - James Tate (08:15 start)
C: Destination tbc - Helen Jamieson

I'll take the B run back to Draycote Water again, but this time with an 8:15am start. This time...no cyclocross I promise :D

It is 130km route, but pan flat with nice smooth roads, so shouldn't be a problem for most B runners....

A fast "B" run today for two reasons..firstly the weather forecast after 2pm is for rain...and secondly the TdF finale broadcast starts at 2.30pm. Therefore it was very much outside of club guidelines, but everyone was happy with the pace (18mph avg) as it was a very flat and fast route.

Had a lovely C run to kenilworth today. In total there were 11 of us at the cafe, including 2 riders who were on their first club run. Welcome Ben and Michael. Of the others, Paul joined us en route, and Andy and Chris were having a recovery ride after yesterday's KK, started with us at the black horse, lost us on the way to cafe, but then met us there.
We even made it back before the supposed forecasted rain!

Great ride Helen with well judged pace and good company. Congratulations to Michael on his first club run and on his son's bike.
